Spinal, body adjustments, and pain management are a few reasons people see a Chiropractor. Sometimes, you may even hear and feel the cracking within the twists, releasing the tension and stress in the muscles and joints. There is so much more in the practice that society does not allow for. Dr. Jung states, “There are millions of studies and articles for Chiropractic health, but you rarely see them, unlike other medical professions. Even the advertising and representation just isn’t there.” “If I could change anything in the healthcare industry, I would change equality and the divide with practices; we should be helping one another, not against each other. I would also change the exposure to the industry. The first two years of education for doctors versus Chiropractors are similar, although MDs get more in drugs and surgery while chiropractors excel in musculoskeletal diagnosis, radiology, orthopedics, and nutrition. To give it a numerical value, it is 370 hours more than medical education”. The treatment and philosophies differ. Chiro practors such as Dr. John Jung provide life-changing therapies that assist in facilitating a healthier life. It is more of a collaboration between doctor and patient; the doctor supplies the tools/education, and it is ultimately up to the patient to maintain their care, as with any medical profession. Dr. Jung states, “As a Chiropractor, I do not and will not ever claim to heal anything the body did it; I just provided the tools to give your body the best chance it can to heal and get back to ultimate health.”
According to Dr. Jung, “The first thing to develop when conceived is the brain and spine, which enables the body to do what it does; everything grows around it like branches and vines around them. Why wouldn’t we care for our main driving parts that help the remainder of our body function? Everyone has gone through minor misalignments, nerve interferences even while we walk, in our sleep, for example, we can disrupt our spine or hips.” Chiropractors help people’s bodies do what they do best in conjunction with a holistic lifestyle.
The practice, just like anything else, needs to be consistent for ultimate results. Hippocrates even mentioned checking the spine first for all diseases. Chiro health doesn’t have many differences between men and women other than women area bit more flexible because of their estrogen levels. The chiro world focuses on nerves/central nerves and the brain—similar practice for kids. The rules change if a woman is pregnant, then we have a different approach. For babies, we study their neurological reflexes. For older adults, we consider that they may be fragile, and their bodies have seen and done a lot more. For people who are over the age of 50, we know that they tend to have hip issues. Women have more upper body issues, whereas men have more lower body complaints. From my experience, Dr. Jung states that men’s primary concern is traumatic issues, and they don’t see a doctor as often as they should or as frequently as women do.
While in college, Dr. Jung hoped to become a surgeon, and his grandmother, sufferingfrom intense pain, was his inspiration. Suddenly, his dreams came to a haltafter being run over by a car. Even during med school interviews, they joked, saying, “There are no surgeons in wheelchairs, and even condemning him to the wheelchair for the rest of his life. According to traditional medicine, I should have been paralyzed, then a nurse recommended I see a chiropractor, and suddenly I was alive again; I had hope.” His approach, passion, dedication, and32 years of experience make Jung stand out from other doctors. He practices neonatal to geriatric health while incorporating everything he can to obtain the best health. He states, “I will scold you, I will cry with you, just so you can stick with the program and achieve the best version of you, the best health you can have. I provide education along with the treatments and connecting, for example, how the liver function affects your toes and right light hurting, all because of not eating properly while under severe stress.” Dr. Jung keeps his mind fresh and current. He states, “I even study other medical professions and attend conferences. And the smarter I become, I realize how uneducated I was to various things, so keep growing because that is the secret to life.”
When asked what his motivation is, he states, “My patients are like my children, “When you take someone’s money, that’s all you got, but when you give them health, you just share the world with them, and that makes me feel like I have fulfilled my purpose, I am content. Our bonds are like the ones soldiers have; we fought a good fight and have some scars, but we carry on and live our lives again with less pain. It is truly remarkable to see a miraculous change.”
